Advanced students
Technique and Repertoire
Students will gather different tools and techniques to improve their performance in specific passages and excerpts in their pieces. In addition, if they are in the Royal Conservatoire of Music curriculum, we will cover all the technical aspects of the exam. The pieces expectations are higher mainly focusing on phrasing, musicality, and letting the student find their own voice in music.
RCM Exams
Exams are not mandatory but you are encouraged to do them at least once or twice during your music education. I prepare them and choose pieces tailored to the students so we can show their strengths, a blooming musicality, and a mastered technical aspect in them. All my students have mock exams and practice tests before their scheduled RCM exam. My students’ usual marks are around 85 to 95. I never had a student fail their exam because I believe in not sending unprepared students.
Competitions and Festivals
Advanced students are highly encouraged to be active in the local music scene including exams, music festivals, competitions, and masterclasses. According to the student goals, we craft a plan for the term or year to carefully breakdown their practice and be prepared on time.
