COMPETITIONS 

"ORMTA Competitions provide experience for young artists to reach their fullest potential. As students challenge themselves, artistically and technically, to perform at their very best level, they also receive feedback from the jurors and are exposed to the repertoire and performance styles of their competitors."

The Ottawa Region Branch (ORB) will be holding 4 competitions in 2022: the ORMTA Ottawa Region Branch Competition (formerly called the ORMTA Ottawa Region Zone Competition), the ORMTA Provincial Instrumental Competitions, the ORMTA Provincial Vocal Competition, and the ORMTA Provincial Young Artist Competition.  

Due to the upsurge in COVID cases, we have decided to hold our Competitions online again this year, but we hope to be able to hold a live winners concert in May.  At the time of writing ORMTA is planning a live Convention for Kingston between July 21st and 24th 2022, and the final round of the Provincial Instrumental, Vocal and Young Artist Competitions will be held during that time.  

The application deadline for all Ottawa Region Competitions remains Friday April 1st, 2022.  In addition to the online submission of videos and PDFs of repertoire, applications and payments will also be made online this year.
